Coffee & Coconut Oil Body Srcub

I was in GA this weekend making coffee after a long day painting and decided to make a a Coffee Scrub for my body to go take a long hot shower and rejuvenate my skin and cleanse off all the days toxins.  So gather up those grounds from the pot……

Coffee Body Scrub with Coconut Oil

Coffee scrub is known to help reduce cellulite. I don’t claim this although it would be an added bonus. I found that the coffee scrub really helped to firm and smooth the skin.
Cellulite enemy #1 is caffeine, which tightens and provides antioxidants to the skin when applied topically. When applied religiously, it has been shown to reduce the appearance of cellulite—especially over time. Here, we combine coffee grounds with moisturizing, skin-soothing coconut oil and a bit of sea salt for an extra exfoliating kick. By massaging this trifecta onto any problem area, you’ll stimulate blood flow resulting in smoother, firmer skin.
My coffee body scrub also smells amazing! I am a die-hard coffee lover, so I am in heaven when I use it.

    • 1 Cup Ground
    • ½ Cup Sugar ½ cup sea salt
    • 1/2 Cup Organic Coconut Oil
    • 1 Tablespoon Any Essential Oil (optional)
    1. Melt coconut oil and allow it to cool but not solidify.
    2. Mix all ingredients together and store in an airtight container or mason jar.
    3. Use 1-2 times a week (or every day if you like).

***TIPS: You can use any type of oil (almond, coconut, safflower, olive, avocado)
Also you can use any type of flavored coffee to make that special smell you like most.

    Lavender Chamomile Sugar Scrub

Spa-day Friday is here at the Shedquarters and we’ll be bringing you new “spa day” ideas every week. This week, we’re making an amazing Lavender & Chamomile Sugar Scrub.

    Here’s what you need:

    • 4 TBLS Sugar
    • 1 TB Apricot Oil  or (Almond, Grapeseed, Avacado, Coconut)
    • 2 tsp Glycerin
    • 10 drops lavender essential oil
    • 5 drops chamomile essential oil
    • ++Optional dried lavender flowers (See my Tips)

How to make the lavender chamomile sugar scrub:

Add the sugar and apricot oil to a bowl and stir. More oil may be needed depending on the sugar you use.  Add oil as needed to make sugar wet but not over saturated.

In a separate container mix the glycerin and essential oils together and then combine them with the sugar mixture Stir well and add a few more drops of essential oil or apricot oil to reach the desired consistency and scent  You can add the dried lavender flowers if desired.
